Salento is not only clear sea and golden beaches. The countryside offers plenty of attractions for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts.

We show you here three routes that combine the exploration of the natural landscape with the discovery of some small cultural jewels: the hermitage dedicated to the Madonna del Casale, the Crypt of the Crucifix and the little church dedicated to Madonna dell’alto mare.

 

ROUTE 1: CHIESA DELLA MADONNA DEL CASALE

Country roads among the olive trees, arrival at the hermitage MADONNA DEL CASALE, return to Torre San Giovanni through the dirt road that runs along the basin.

ROUTE 2: CRIPTA DEL CROCIFISSO

Country roads, small roads and unpaved sections. Arrival at the crypt of the Crucifix or CRUCIFIED NELLA MACCHIA in Casarano and return passing through the CHIESA DELLA CAMPANA.

ROUTE 3: STRADE DI CAMPAGNA TRA GLI ULIVI CON ARRIVO ALLA CHIESA DELLA MADONNA DELL’ALTO MARE
